Anael spent most of the summer recording vocals for a new series entitled Buddha Spirit, original adaptations of Tibetan Buddhist mantras. Composed by Bradfield and presented with contemporary arrangements, gorgeous melodies and female vocals, it is quite unlike anything you might have come to associate with the sacred Buddhist mantras. Already renowned as powerful vehicles for transformation and healing, the great mantras now take on a new aesthetic dimension as well that makes them readily accessible to the Western ear. There are no layers of harmonies as with Anael's trademark sound, each syllable is presented with but one solitary voice, making this her purest and most meditative singing to date.

Buddha Spirit will also feature an elaborate booklet with extensive essays, statues and paintings while the mantras are printed both in traditional Tibetan script and with the English phonetics. The US and Canadian retail releases are set for April 2006 and promise to open up her artistry to a whole new legion of fans.
